Building Noise Marines Update #2 (Saved By Slaanesh)

Having put loads of work into my Daemon Princess conversion recently, it has been slow progress on the Noise Marines. However, I have managed to complete the minis with their Spellcrow bodies on them, and I have been working on the green stuff bases. I am currently making all the tentacles for the bases too, so I hope to get them glued to the bases soon. In the meantime, I have the big task of removing all the mould lines on the rest of the bitz I need, and that seems to be taking forever!

Daemon Prince of Slaanesh Conversion (part 2)

More work done on my Slaanesh Daemon Prince/Princess! I have now filled in the body section where the original model meets the Tyranid body, very happy how the green stuff came out, although I will be adding some armour bits to it as well. I also decided to make the six pack less pronounced in hope to bring a little more of a feminine look to the model...

The wings of course are magnetised, so I can have her on foot or in the air. I pinned them as well as using magnets to make the fit more secure...

My plan will be to add a tabard and armour plates to her to bring everything together and to give here hips, something like this! First though, I need to work out what to do with the arms...

Building Noise Marines Update #1 (Saved By Slaanesh)

So building my Noise Marines has finally started! I first decided on my base theme for the army and I have come up with what I think will be a pretty cool base. Some sort of electric blue lava with pink tentacles coming out of it, something like this crude image I did in photoshop to give me an idea of the look. The tentacles will definitely be bigger though...

With the base worked out it was time to do some building, first I got a massive bag of slate from Poundland and took a hammer to it. The slate is a great material for glueing both the plastic Chaos Space Marines and Spellcrow Resin legs to with superglue. Plus I can drill a hole into it should I need to do any pinning. From then on it was a case of gluing the legs onto the bases. I plan on building thirty six Noise Marines to give me six units of six or three units of twelve, seems about right for Slaanesh!

My original plan was to have about 25% Spellcrow bitz and the rest genuine Chaos bitz, but to be honest, the Spellcrow Pleasure Marine pieces are so good, I have decided to use a lot more of their stuff than I originally intended, and this has meant I have come to a halt until my second order from Spellcrow arrives in a few days. I would highly recommend you check out the Spellcrow Website if you haven't done so already, they have some awesome products for sale. For now though, here are a few pictures of the progress I have made so far on the Noise Marines...

Saved by Slaanesh! Spellcrow Noise Marines and Overdue Update!

Wow, just realised it's been nearly two months since I posted about my new Emperor's Children army! I suppose the truth is, I haven't done a lot of actual work on the army that I plan on painting next year, well except for planning what I am going to do with everything I have...

I did manage to build twenty Daemonettes, and I definitely want to get more of those at some point. Other than that, I have been concentrating on the Noise Marines. As I paid for nothing on the table in the picture above, thanks to some very kind donations and a few wins on YouTube giveaways, I thought I would open my wallet and invest in some Spellcrow Pleasure Marine upgrade bitz.

To be fair, the Spellcrow stuff is actually really well priced, and OMG such good quality, especially compared to the GW Noise Marine upgrade sprue! If you haven't heard of Spellcrow then you can check out their stuff here, in the meantime hear are the bitz I got from them...

A few years ago, I was given a huge box of Chaos models by one of my very generous YouTube subscribers. On top of that, I have also been fortunate enough to win a few community competitions, including the Chaos half of the Dark Vengeance box set. Loads and loads of Chaos goodness. So, what models do I have for the army? Lets have a little look...

I think there is enough there to make several Chaos armies to be honest! Time to start working on them then. More to come soon...
