Time to show you the winners of my Terrain Square Competition that I had over on my YouTube Channel a while back. After whittling down the field from thirty three to seven in the last post, I now have to pick my top five favourite pieces and put them in order from fifth to first. The top two pieces will get prizes, second place from myself, and first place from The Terrain Tutor who helped sponsor the competition. So without further ado, here are the results in reverse order...
5th Place!
Eldar Webway by Terrain Direct
Congratulations to Craig for making such a wonderful piece of terrain, I seriously loved this piece, and the impact of the lights on it made my job of choosing the winners very, very hard indeed.
4th Place...
Space Hulk Scene by GamzaTheEternal
I am loving this Space Hulk piece from Gamza, there is a huge story behind it, and the fact that he made the piece without owning a single Tyranid model was epic, very clever work and a wonderful final result
3rd Place...
Ghools Graveyard by Spungemurphy
Spungemurphy's piece was the piece that I really enjoyed seeing come together, I think he hit the nail on the head with the theme, and how he executed it. The final result is awesome, and I have to say it was very, very nearly placed higher!
2nd Place...
Chaos Hell Diorama by Jason Prior
Jason's Hell scene won me over for second place though, I have been following Jason for a while now on YouTube, and I can see massive improvements in his work. This piece just took him to the next level. A well deserved second place, and an awesome piece of terrain. Well done Jason.
1st Place...
Double Sided Diorama by Moddeling Loonie
Moddelingloonie totally stole the show with his double sided diorama. The work he has done on it looks totally awesome, and the idea behind it is fantastic. A very well deserved winner, and I would suggest you go and check out his Channel here, to see the piece in more detail.
A massive thank you to everyone that took part and supported the competition, It was a brilliant event, and I have a feeling you may be seeing another one of these from me sometime in the near future. Just to finish off the post, here is a nice little picture of Moddelingloonie (right) giving his friend the awesome terrain piece that he made for him...
Wonderful piece! Lot of really subtle detail in the terrain. Def recommend checking out his video to see it more closely!
