Eldar Warp Spiders (part 4) Lets find out what all the fus is about!

Well, here we are, the Warp Spiders are nearly complete, with just the bases to go. From the last post, I highlighted the rest of the gold, painted the gems, and did the white and guns to match the rest of my army. Of course, I couldn't resist having a go at some freehand...

I was inspired with the freehand design by the awesome jetbike that 33claydog did for me a while ago, taking elements from his design. I think this is the most advanced freehand I have done to date, and I have to say, I am really happy with it...

As always, painting the bases should finish them off nicely. Showcase pictures of them finished coming soon...

Eldar Warp Spiders (part 3) Lets find out what all the fus is about!

Really starting to get there now with my Warp Spiders. That's the red and purple highlighted. Plus the power blades. I wanted the red to be a little different to the usual orange highlight, so I used a bone colour. First with a 50/50 mix with the base red, and then with a pure bone edge highlight. Finally I glazed all of the red with a red glaze I made up. The purple and power blades were done in my usual IDIC colours...

Next up, to highlight the rest of the gold, do the gemstones and complete the guns and white!

Eldar Warp Spiders (part 2) Lets find out what all the fus is about!

I am really happy how my Warp Spiders are coming along. I have managed to base coat and wash everything, which took some time as I only put the washes in the recesses of the red and purple. I have finished highlighting the Ork head and will tackle the red highlights next, before moving on to highlight the purple and gold. The power blades will get my usual silver to gold blend, which should look pretty cool...

Eldar Warp Spiders (part 1) Lets find out what all the fus is about!

It's been a while since I painted something from my Eldar case. Now that I only play with painted models, I thought it was about time I painted up some Warp Spiders and find out what all the fus is about for myself! Three groups of five with an Exarch should do the job. I have made a nice start, base coating the red and white over the grey primer. I plan on painting these in the Aspect Warrior colours, but as always, I will add some elements of Craftworld IDIC...
