Bag of Monsters #2

Back to the sea monsters I am painting up for my buddy and his Man O' War game. This project is just a little side project, so I am not rushing through it. So far, I have stripped them, cleaned up the mould lines and primed them grey. One of the Dreadfleet models was a bit top heavy and kept falling over, so I made a hole in the bottom and added in a weight using an off cut piece of metal from an old model and green stuff...

Now to get them painted!

Just a quick update on the Eldar fleet. The purple is washed and the first highlight is down. I have done some of the larger guns and vents, but I still have the smaller ones to do. Once the purple is complete, I will finish the guns and go in and do the yellow gemstones before moving onto the bases. First though, to get the purple completely highlighted...

Wow, that was hard work, so many fiddly bits to paint around, but the purple is now all in the right places. First I went in with Hormagaunt Purple and then over that with Lich Purple! Next will be to wash and highlight it, plus I need to paint all the guns and vents. More to come once I have put in a few more hours...

Bag of Monsters #1

Having painted up some Man O' War Sea Monsters for my buddy a while a go, it seems he has collected a few more gribblies! On our last gaming night he handed me a bag and in it was another collection of monsters for me to paint.

One is a whale, which is definitely an actual Man O' War monster, but the rest are different. I think the plastic ones are from Dreadfleet maybe, and the big chunk of metal that I will have to strip is from somewhere else that I haven't got a clue about. Still, they should make great stand in models for the game, and I can't wait to paint them...
