Eldar Royal Guard Conversion Done

Here is the final conversion I did for my Farseers personal 'Royal Guard' Warlock as inspired by Martin McNeil to make a Star Wars Character from GW bitz. The last sections I did was on the back of the head and some extra cloak work by his sticking out hand. I had great fun making him and testing out my green stuff skills. I really hope you like him, now to get him painted...

Eldar Royal Guard Conversion (part 4)

Continuing on with my inspiration from Martin McNeil to make a Star Wars Character, and my next step to the Royal Guard was to beef out his shoulders to make it look like his arms are underneath the cloak, I think I got this bit done very nicely, the shoulders look great and match in with the flowing cloak very well...

From then on it was back to the head, adding the shoulder parts of the mask and working more on the sides and back area of the head, please bear in mind that I am going for a more Eldar look to the top of the head with the pointed section rather than the rounded head of a real Guard...

Next will be the finishing touches. More to come...

Eldar Royal Guard Conversion (part 3)

Continuing on with my inspiration from Martin McNeil to make a Star Wars Character from mostly GW bitz and it's time to get to work on the head. I know the Royal Guard heads are rounded at the top, but my Farseers personal Warlock needs to look a little bit more Eldarish, so I thought it would be cool to have a pointed head...

Using an old Guardians biker head as a base, I went to work on the first steps of green stuff, making the shapes of the inside of the mask first. I then pinned it to the model...

Once it was in place I started work on the next section of the head and matched it into the body. I still have a lot of work to do on the head, but first I want to beef up the shoulders so that it looks like he has arms underneath his cloak!

Eldar Royal Guard Conversion (part 2)

Continuing on with my inspiration to make a Star Wars Character from mostly GW bitz by my good buddy and Star Wars fanatic, Martin McNeil over on his YouTube Channel. I have now gone in and done the first section of the front robes. I wanted to keep the Eldar theme to the mini, and found this broken Singing Spear I had hidden away...

As the bottom half of the spear was missing, I thought I could use that to make it look as if it is hidden underneath his cloak following the traditional look of a Royal Guard. Overall, I am happy with this start, and it is great that I am using bitz for the project that I thought would never make it out of my bitz box. Next though, I need to start work on the head...

Eldar Royal Guard Conversion (part 1)

With some inspiration from my good buddy and Star Wars fanatic, Martin McNeil over on his YouTube Channel, I have a very exciting new project to work on. To make a Star Wars Character from mostly GW bitz, something to really get the imagination flowing, and I knew instantly what character I wanted to make, the Emperors Royal Guard!

After a little think and a rummage through my bitz box, I found this half destroyed Farseer model, where I had already cut off its arms and used his head for my previous Praying Farseer Conversion. Looks like a perfect place to start to me, and with the basis for the mini chosen, I thought I could make my Royal Guard into some sort of personal Warlock for my Farseer

First I am going to have to fill in the front section with green stuff and make it into a robe. I hope you will enjoy seeing this guy come together with me as I test out my green stuff skills!  Lots more to come...

Warlock Psychic Power Markers!

With my determination to keep the Seer Council in my Saim-Hann list for now, I need to figure out a way to keep track of all those powers. Although I would love to have little discrete magnetised markers of some sort, I am as yet, still not convinced of the future of the Seer Council in my army, so I came up with this template of markers, just to get me going.
