New Laser Cut Necron Objectives Painted

Nick speaking,

An update from my previous post, where I reviewed the brand new double sided, Laser Cut Card 'Cyborg' Objectives, and here they are all painted up. I am sure you will agree that not only do they look awesome, they work really well as objective markers for any of the standard 40k missions, including Mysterious Objectives...

Oh, and by the way, Laser Cut Card also make Ork versions of these little beauties...

New Necron/Ork Laser Cut Objectives Review

Nick speaking,

I know I have reviewed some Laser Cut Card Cyborg Objectives in the past, and they were very nice indeed, but those have now been updated, and the new ones look even better. The old objectives were fine for working out the values of each one, but had an issue marking them as mysterious, and this is where the new ones come into their own! So, lets have a look and see what they are all about...

As usual with all the Laser Cut Card products, they are really easy to make. There are three strong cardboard disks that all glue together, and just a couple of glyph circles. I would recommend superglue myself, as it dries quick and soaks into the cardboard making them even stronger.

Once built, you can easily see how you can use them for all of the standard 6th edition 40k missions...

Mysterious objectives...

Numbered Objectives...

See them all painted up in the next post, but as the titles of this post suggested, these little gems are not just available for Cyborgs! Check out these brand new awesome Ork Objects too...

Warlock Psychic Power Markers!

Nick speaking,

With my determination to keep the Seer Council in my Saim-Hann list for now, I need to figure out a way to keep track of all those powers. Although I would love to have little discrete magnetised markers of some sort, I am as yet, still not convinced of the future of the Seer Council in my army, so I came up with this template of markers, just to get me going. Please feel free to contact me if you would like a copy of the template. Saim-Hann battle report to follow...

Vehicle Unit Markers?

Nick speaking,

Have you ever got confused to what units are embarked in your Vehicles? Or maybe which Vehicles are empty? Maybe forgot which one has your HQ in it? How do you go about remembering which units are where? Or even letting your opponent know what is what easily? Well, this is how I go about remembering mine for my Eldar Wave Serpents...

First I use one of the many Falcon Targeters that I have in my Eldar bitz box. I then paint this up into one of my unit colours, in this case Dire Avengers. I then put a magnet on the underside of it ready for magnetising...

I then glue a strong magnet on the inside of my Wave Serpent right at the front of the chamber. I can now take the unit markers on and off whenever a unit embarks or disembarks. I can paint up different coloured markers for each unit I have, so I can have orange for Fire Dragons, bone colour for Banshees etc.

To indicate my Farseer, I am using the vehicle sensor array, this is magnetised on both the top and bottom, so I can either have both the unit and Farseer mounted, or if the unit disembarks, I can leave the Farseer marker in place with the embarked Farseer. I think this works really well, and lets everyone playing know exactly who is where at just a glance. What do you think, how do your keep track of your units?

Eldar Psychic Markers

Nick speaking,

A few posts ago I asked my followers for some ideas for Doom, Guide and Fortune markers, to take the place of my Photoshop paper versions. I received some great ideas including making an information booth for a fortune marker.

One person though, really caught my attention with his great marker ideas. And I would like to say a big thank you to BigGrim for sharing them with me, and allowing me to share them with you also. So without further ado, here are his three markers...

'Doom' marker made from the new Tomb Banshee model...

'Guide' made from High Elf Archer pointing...

'Fortune' made from a High Elf Mage with orb...

I really love the simplistic way he has painted them, they are still eye catching and the bases really work well at making them stand out. I think I am going to seriously consider using his ideas for my own markers in the future.

You can check out more of BigGrim's stuff here on his Plog

Tervigon Project Complete

Nick speaking,

In my last Tervigion Green stuff post, I had already made the basics of the birthing sack and one extra centre spine, for my first eBay Carnifex based Tervigon conversion. I have now completed the other two spines, added some extra detail to the birthing sack and made some bigger shoulder sockets for the arms, so that they stand away from the body a bit more. I then started to glue and pin the arms and feet to the body...

Long time followers will remember that I have a box of magnetic rocks in my possession, that I have never used, and I am now very pleased to have finally found a use for them. I glued a Termagant to one of the rocks and have it magnetised to the base. He will sit on the base until the Tervie is constipated, and then I can remove it as a marker that it can't spawn anymore. Added bonus will be that I can then magnetise it to a normal base and have an extra Gant...

Not bad for only £12.00 and a bit of green stuff...
