Building Noise Marines Update #2 (Saved By Slaanesh)

Having put loads of work into my Daemon Princess conversion recently, it has been slow progress on the Noise Marines. However, I have managed to complete the minis with their Spellcrow bodies on them, and I have been working on the green stuff bases. I am currently making all the tentacles for the bases too, so I hope to get them glued to the bases soon. In the meantime, I have the big task of removing all the mould lines on the rest of the bitz I need, and that seems to be taking forever!

Daemon Prince of Slaanesh Conversion (part 3)

Ok so continuing on with the Daemon Princess I am converting. I have now attached the tabard and armour plates to the waste section and filled in the holes at the bottom of the Ravanar body, I was going to put tentacles in them but they just looked too over the top for my liking. However, I have now added a Slaanesh symbol to her chest, and I have to say I am really digging it...

Now to work on the arms, and after a rummage through my Tyranids bitz box I was able to cobble together some arm options for her. They are all magnetised and I will add some chains to her at some point, but as far as I am concerned I am done. With the exception of her head that is. Hopefully the Tyranid arms mixed with the Chaos arms have made her look a little more feminine, but I would love to know your thoughts in the comments section below...

Building Noise Marines Update #1 (Saved By Slaanesh)

So building my Noise Marines has finally started! I first decided on my base theme for the army and I have come up with what I think will be a pretty cool base. Some sort of electric blue lava with pink tentacles coming out of it, something like this crude image I did in photoshop to give me an idea of the look. The tentacles will definitely be bigger though...

With the base worked out it was time to do some building, first I got a massive bag of slate from Poundland and took a hammer to it. The slate is a great material for glueing both the plastic Chaos Space Marines and Spellcrow Resin legs to with superglue. Plus I can drill a hole into it should I need to do any pinning. From then on it was a case of gluing the legs onto the bases. I plan on building thirty six Noise Marines to give me six units of six or three units of twelve, seems about right for Slaanesh!

My original plan was to have about 25% Spellcrow bitz and the rest genuine Chaos bitz, but to be honest, the Spellcrow Pleasure Marine pieces are so good, I have decided to use a lot more of their stuff than I originally intended, and this has meant I have come to a halt until my second order from Spellcrow arrives in a few days. I would highly recommend you check out the Spellcrow Website if you haven't done so already, they have some awesome products for sale. For now though, here are a few pictures of the progress I have made so far on the Noise Marines...

Saved by Slaanesh! A New Army Introduction

I know it's been a while since I teased you with my new army, but now it's time to get the ball rolling for Slaanesh! First a little back story. A few years ago, I was given a huge box of Chaos models by one of my very generous YouTube subscribers. On top of that, I have also been fortunate enough to win a few community competitions, including the Chaos half of the Dark Vengeance box set .Loads and loads of Chaos goodness just sitting in my cupboard, but why so long in starting a new army?

Well, the truth is, I couldn't work out what Chaos God to follow? Bearing in mind, I didn't really know too much about Chaos and their gods back then. In the end I had to make a real effort to try and choose. I started by reading the fluff for all the legions. This turned out to be the right way to go, as I quickly fell in love with Slaanesh and the Emperors Children fluff, I was literally Saved by Slaanesh, or at least, by Daemonettes!

The truth is it was the Daemonettes that drew me in the most, the idea of these Daemons controlling me and my army on the table just sounded like so much fun! Of course, there were no Daemonettes in the big box of Chaos loot I have, so the first thing I had to do was buy myself a couple of boxes of these beauties...

I can't wait to get to work on these models, more to come soon!

The Year of the Wolf (part 2)

With the Year of the Wolf in place for 2015, I have been painting my first unit of ten Grey Hunters in my 13th Company Space Wolves army. I have to say I am really enjoying these guys, and being 13th Company Wolves, I have modelled them all with different parts of Chaos armour. The Space Wolves armour is the Pre Heresy grey, and I have chosen Black Legion and Emperors Children for the Chaos armour sections. So far I have just put down the base coats, so washes and highlights are still to come, pretty happy how they're looking so far though...
