Necrons for the Win! All ready for painting

Ok, so I have been hard at work on all the models I had collected for my Necron army over the last few months. Most of these are metal classics, but that's ok as I am an old school kinda guy! I had a lot of fun doing some conversion work on what I had and my plan is to batch paint the entire collection, so that once again I can have a fully painted Necron force! Right, lets have a closer look at my work...

Old Lord conversion, thought this would make a cool Destroyer Lord or Command Barge...

Lord with Void Blade, this one was Finecast so I didn't bother stripping him...

Orikan conversion from a Cryptek...

An old Immortal model, I just had one so will use him as a Relic objective marker, I have some Scarabs I will add to the base...

Thirty old Warriors. I plan on using these as Tesla Immortals, three of them were broken so I converted them to be reanimating...

Three old Destroyers that I have magnetised to their bases...

Here they are all together, plus in the bags are the five Praetorians/Lychguard that I recently magnetised. Painting this lot is going to be fun...

Necrons for the Win! Reinforcements Arrive

Seems like I'm still on a Necron kick at the moment. I have decided to get out all the unpainted Necron models I have collected over the last few months and get them ready to add to my army. Most of these are old school metal models, but that's ok as I love the classics!

I am going to need to strip these metal Warriors down and clean them up, but the plan is to use these as Immortals with Tesla, hell I might even buy some more and increase the numbers! I do have one old school Immortal in the box, but I think I might make him an objective marker or something, maybe a good marker for the Relic?

Three more old Destroyers to add to the collection I already have, I was using these as Tomb Blades, but in 8th Edition these will become Destroyers again!

I also have a classic Necron Lord that I can't wait to start working on, plus a few characters and a Tomb Spyder for some conversion work I hope to do...

Necron Canoptek Acanthrite Conversion Complete

Finally finished the Acanthrite conversions, I have to say I am really happy with how they came out and I can't wait to get them painted. I think they look pretty close to the originals, well, except for the stabilisers, but I am not a fan of those bits anyway! Let me know what you think in the comments box below...

Necron Canoptek Acanthrite Conversion Progress #2

I am progressing very nicely with the Acanthrite conversions. I have now received the bitz that I was waiting for from eBay and added them to the models. I think these are really matching the originals quite nicely, but I still have some work to do...

Next will be to add the Wraith back pieces to them, but I have a new idea from the one I previously posted about. I will reshape the back piece and put it on back to front. I think it beefs them up but doesn't make them look like Wraiths too much. Once I have complete these sections, all I have to do is a touch of green stuff work on the lower tails and then magnetise the flying bases.

Necron Canoptek Acanthrite Conversion Progress #1

Back to the three left over Wraiths that I had from my very cheap eBay loot, and as previously posted, I am going to convert them into Forge Wold Acanthrites. It shouldn't be too difficult, as they seem to be just a kitbashed from Wraiths and Spyders. I think it will be fun to do and it's a unit I have never played before that seem to be pretty decent on the table...

First I bent the metal tails about so that when they go onto a flying stand they look like they are floating. I ended up having to pin two sections on each tail, but it wasn't an issue. A nice spiky bit for the tail scythe and that was that done.

Next was the back and gun. I found a gun and back torso in my bitz box and went about cutting a filing the back of the Wraith down so that they fit together. I still need to green stuff in the gaps, but that will come later. I am thinking the sticky out ball at the back of the torso will make a good stabiliser. I know the original has four of them, but I am struggling to get bitz for them and I kinda like the single one I have at the moment...

So, that's how far I have got so far, You may have noticed that I have also cut the Wraith head off, and I plan on adding a Spyder head instead like the original. I think I will also trim down the Wraith back pieces and and them to the spine to beef the model up a little. Before that though, I have just had a delivery of claws from eBay, so I will fix them on and the head and see how they look

Necrons! Necron! Necrons!

As most of you know, Necrons are my first and number one love in this hobby. I love everything about them, well except the Triarch Stalker model lol. Having been a long time collector, I have most of what I need, having said that, I am always looking on eBay for some Cron bargains! My recent hunting has provided me with nine more metal Wraiths, and literally, all for just a few pound. Yes, some of the bases are broken, but I will come to that in a bit...

Not only have I got myself these Wraiths, but I have also been given an old Necron Warrior by my YouTube Buddy Snake Eyes Gaming. He is well worth checking out as he is putting out some great content on his Channel.

I already have two units of six Wraiths, so I decided to just fix up six of these Wraiths to make a third unit. Like I said, some of the models were broken off the bases, but that was an easy fix for me, and a tutorial on how I did them will be coming up on the Blog soon if your interested.

So, what about the last three Wraiths? Well, I am planning on converting them into some Forge World Canoptek Acanthrites! I think it will work well, and it will give me a new Necron unit to try out, which is always a good thing! More to come on them soon, but incase you don't know what Acanthrites look like, here are a  couple of pictures for you...
