I ended my first Tervigon post with me using Blu-Tack, as stand in, removable green stuff, to get a feel for what the end result might look like. Since then I have stripped down the eBay purchased Carnifex using Dettol, It was well covered in thick paint and gloss varnish, but after three days of soaking, most of it came off.
I then got to work with the 'green stuff', I know it's not really green stuff as I have just started using Gale Force Nine's equivalent 'grey stuff', which is a lot more economic, but after ten years I find it hard to break the habit of saying green stuff. First I started working on the Spawning sack, bearing in mind that this model was originally posed in a way that I decided to make the sack more closed, as such. I have plans to make my next Tervie upright with an open sack and more of the Termagant visible, but this is how I ended up doing this one...
It's pretty basic at the moment and I plan on adding some more detail to it later, I am thinking along the lines of tendrils or something. At this stage though, I was more curious to see if I could make a green stuff 'spine' to go down the middle, like the picture in the Codex...
After a lot of fiddling around and trying to make it out of one piece, I ended up folding a flat piece of green stuff in half and joining it together at the edges so that I got the basic shape for the hole section at the top, I then shaped it as near as I could the original...
Now I need to make two more...
That's a spiffy looking end result on the "spine". Do you plan on sanding down the fingerprints?
