Nick speaking,
Many thanks to Mercer for supplying me with a couple of his old Necron Tomb Spyders, we swiftly negotiated a very reasonable price and they are now in my hands. If you are not already following his Blog Imperius Dominatus, then please go and check it out as soon as you have finished reading this post and start following him.
The two Spyders will need a bit of work to get them ready for my Soulless Necron army, and I intend to strip them down, add a bit of green stuff to a few areas and file them down ready for painting. One of them has a Particle Projector, but the front of the gun has gone astray. I am going to add the front section of a Gauss Cannon as a replacement, and I think I will reposition some of the arms whilst I am at it.
As you can see from the picture, one of them has a sticky out leg. I am not sure if this was on purpose, or if it's had an accident one day and broken off. Either way, I like it, and plan to make it a main feature. I was thinking of having a load of Scarabs running down and around the leg as if it's making some swarms! Maybe something like this...
Well that's it for now, going to start work on these guys and get them painted up the same as my other three Spyders. Thanks again Mark

Two weeks ago I showed you some 32mm scale miniatures. Lately I've been
painting not only fantasy heroes but also their enemies :) I don't know why

Nice one, I still would love to buy some Scarabs off you bud haha. Would've entered the Youtube contest but didn't have time to record anything.
ReplyDeleteLooking great mate, I really like the spider with the scarabs crawling off it!! :)awesome!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, next time I will have to make the competition entry time longer than four weeks just for you lol. So how many Scarabs are we talking about? I have stopped production at the moment, but I can easily open the factory again =)
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, finished pictures of them will be up in a few posts time :D
ReplyDeleteWell as I bought 36 Warriors off ebay that didn't come with any Scarabs and so only have three bases I'd say quite a few lol. I guess however many your willing to make and how much you'd want for them. I refuse to pay £15-£20 for 6 bases that is just ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI like the scarabs climbing off the one as well. They are a nice change from just the regular model we always see.
ReplyDeleteRon, FTW
Thanks Ron :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pimpage, Nick. The first Spyder I called 'Gotcha' as it looks like it was chasing some Guardsmen or something, lol. The other Spyder looks like it is taking a piss up a tree, lol, btw the leg broke off while rebuilding it. I think the Scarab idea is cool btw.
ReplyDeleteSorry to chime in and hijack, though I have 10 Scarab bases I am possibly selling. Each Scarab base has 5-6 Scarabs on it and vehicle wreckage. Some have been cast from greenstuff btw. Let me know if that's any interest you.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, thanks buddy, I will let you know when the post with them all finished goes up =)
