What is the most fun gun in 40k? And when I say most fun, I mean most fun and not most powerful!
For me it's the flamer, just being able to make a burning noise as you lay down the template is fun enough (yes, sad I know). Add in auto hits with no cover saves for extra fun! Of course the strength five heavy flamer is even better, let alone the strength six AP three versions that are about, but they all make the same noise...
Burn baby burn!
So what is your favourite gun in 40k and why?
Shokk Attack Gun. Full Stop.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing even remotely like the feeling of putting a large blast template somewhere, rolling to determine it's random and fun effect, then describing the mayhem that occurs to your bewildered opponent.
Nightspinner dooweaver cannon, I just picture everybody being stuck in the gaint web like little bugs and me being the Spider :D
ReplyDeleteFlamers are good but my fave is taking a leman russ execution with sponson plasma cannons! Your opponent is initially scared but then sees that they are small templates and says 'meh', but little do they know that you're about to throw 5!!! such templates at them - as there are five I usually find that at least two get a direct hit (usually 3) and then even if they have a squad of marines in cover it just dies and your opponent is just left staring at the massive tank!
ReplyDeleteYes, I must admit the Shokk Attack gun is a fun gun, although it wasn't very funny for me when my opponent got a double six on my Thunderwolf Cavalry once! OUCH!

ReplyDeleteShuriken weapons- there is no better feeling than killing the enemy with your finest bone-china.
