Nice job! Did you start with a base of white and paint up to that deep purple color? As one who has tried it both ways - regal blue up to white and vice versa - I know the pain of dealing with those high contrast colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how you modeled the guardians. Did you start with the jetbike rider legs and add guardian bits or have you found some way to make the guardian legs actually fit the jetbike model?
Like the colour scheme, and love how the white underneath just peaks out. made any decision re the aspect warriors yet?
ReplyDelete@fonkin, I've had a go at using standard guardian legs on jetbikes (for more dynamic posing for a jet council) - it's possible but it's a lot work for little benefit
Thanks for the comments, yes I started with a base coat of white and then based the purple sections with Hormagaunt purple.

Thanks, I am thinking about going with the majority of my poll voters and stick to the Codex colours, but adding in some IDIC colours here and there ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of doing them differently from the rest of the craftworld, but playing with the 'traditional colours'. Maybe using the white idic colour with aspect colours - e.g. fire dragons red and whie, scorpions green and white etc. The white will go with everything and tie them in nicely too.
