Nice work. I think my favorite bases are the ones that have the slabs of rock tilted slightly and look like they are half buried in the base. It adds a little depth to the base overall.
ReplyDeleteRon, FTW
Thanks Ron :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ron, they look fantastic!! :) Keep up the awesome work!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, got another hundred Scarabs pressed out already for another twenty bases =)
ReplyDeleteIs that all? Pah... LOL sounds painful to paint in all seriousness
ReplyDeleteIt's not too bad actually, only took me an hour or so to paint up these sixty, I just stuck them on a big board with blue tac and dry brushed them up a few times. The main work cutting off the excess green stuff and doing the bases.
ReplyDeleteCan I ask where you got all the bigger bases? I've been looking but can never find the plain larger bases? :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, no prob.
ReplyDeleteYou could try these from eBay:

Only 99p for ten. They are very slightly not as tall as the GW ones, so it depends on how fussy you are? I have tried them and they certainly do the job, but I am a bit anal, and would rather pay the extra for the proper ones. They do make excellent marker bases though! (If you go for these they also sell fifty for £3.99!)
If your anal like me and want the GW ones, you can buy them direct for £2.55 for five:

Hope that helps
Nick
Hmm sounds tempting, I'm looking at a new army, so depending on how the bases arrive I will strongly consider the ebay cheepy ones! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers mate! :)
A pleasure mate, what army are you thinking about doing?
ReplyDeleteJumping on the GK bandwagon, a mate at the local gaming club is selling his GKs so I'm considering them atm. But we'll see :)
