Nick speaking,
As many of you know, I am a big fan of the Mawloc model, and I have had a double Mawloc Loc List for some time now. Having recently painted my third and final Mawloc, and with Drop Pods back in, I thought it was time to redo my list and update it to a Triple Loc List for 7th Edition.
First of all, in an ideal world, I would like to swap out the Hive Guard for a Hive Crone, but I still have to build and paint mine, so for now the Hive Guard is in. They will sit behind or beside the ADL along with the Tervigon, Gants and Venomthropes Blob. The two Flyrants will move on up and then the three Locs will hit. This list is built for fun and to get three of my favourite minis on the table, but please let me know what you think and all suggestion are most welcome...

Today something completely different. My wife's autumn project (with a
little input from me 😁). She made a Book Nook diorama in a few evenings. I

That's great feed back, thanks bud, I will defo look at adding that relay :D
ReplyDeleteWhatever the cost I'd add a Comms Relay to that ADL. Personally I'd drop the second Venomthrope and a gaunt or two, its sat behind the ADL with other targets anyway so having two is just overkill. But having that Comms Relay means all the Mawlocs and pods have a better chance of turning up. The only thing worse than reserves coming in piecemeal is for them not to come in at all and that +1 really helps.
ReplyDeleteFor me I'll take a Mawloc over a Trygon for the cost and the potential impact but mist of the time I've been underwhelmed at what they do. However they draw fire the same way as a Trygon and the Hit and Run makes them even more annoying which I find is the main purpose of these two creatures. Good luck to using three, I think the Comms Relay would really help you make it work though.
I sure wish the 'Nids had a worthy HQ choice to compete with the TL Devourer Flyrants.
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda sad, but they are far and away the best option. Like, by a country mile...which is somehow longer than an urban mile.
Yeah, your totally right there bud
ReplyDeleteIf they hadn't have made the Prime 40pts more in this Codex it would have helped. It would have driven sales of the new Warrior box too! As a viable option people would have made a Prime but with two more models in the box they would have had to buy a second box to make a min legal brood size. Instead its less of an option so folk just buy the one box and not bother with the Prime.
ReplyDeleteHQ Tervigons are OK though. I know they backfire when they die but I still live their spawning ability and they share the same stat ground as the Mawloc/Trygon with versatility trading off the 'specialties' of the worms!
