Time for some Waaagh...
I had a gaming night the other day with my buddy, and he was keen to try out his Orks for the first time in 6th Edition. We decided to play a few 750pt games using the Battleforce Recon mission rules. We deployed using a standard pitch battle format instead of the corners, as the small deployment zone of the Recon mission is just too small for 750pts, and it seemed to work pretty well this way. I showed up with my Necrons and had two 750pt lists, a Foot list and a Mech list. I rolled a dice and the Mech list came up as the army I would play first...

ReplyDeleteBasically, the Orks charged forward and got shot to pieces without making any assaults. The Lootas didn't do anything all game, but I did lose the Destroyer Lord and a Wraith to a lucky double six from the Big Mek shock attack gun. Final result was a total wipe out of the Orks.

I didn't have any Wraiths mate ;). They were just not rolling the dice very well and when they did hit I was getting my Jinks save :D
ReplyDeleteah right. I just presumed you had Wraiths as you mentioned D-Lord. So who was the D-Lord hanging with?

Ihave the Destroyer Lord rocking with Wraiths in the foot list game I have coming up, but in this list he is with the Destroyers, using his weave to try and keep the unit alive :D

The Lootas were the only things he had to take out all the AV13, so he was shooting at them most of the time.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't he have been better firing at the Destroyers and wounding on a 2+ instead of firing at a Ghost Ark and needing 6+ to glance? I would have dakka'd the Destroyers as they probably would have being doing much damage, then power klaw a Ghost Ark.

I know what you are saying, but most of the damage I was doing was from the Arks and Anni Barge. I only had two Destroyers and one Heavy and their low AP didn't really bother the Orks. He could see the power Klaw was never going to get close to me in this small game, as soon as he came in I Gaussed his unit to death
